The lodge is currently closed due to the Calf Canyon & Hermits Peak fires.

Thank you for visiting Pendaries.life

Due to the devastating fires that occurred one year ago, we at Pendaries are in the process of ‘BUILDING BACK BETTER’.

Pendaries is closed to the general public for the 2023 season.

Over the next 1-3 years, we will be re-building the community that we almost lost.

We anticipate re-opening in May of 2024 with limited services.

Thank you for all your kind words and thoughts.

ROOMS AVAILABLE WITH 1 KING OR 2 QUEEN BEDS

Find some peace and quiet on your own, or with someone special.

Stay overnight at our lodge and enjoy the tranquility of the mysterious mountain twilight at an altitude of 8,000 feet.

All year is spectacular when you stay at the Pendaries Lodge…

…you’ll want to get outdoors early in the morning because the mountain blue-birds of happiness
will be flitting through the grasses to welcome you to a new day.

…as the sun rises in the eastern skies over the vast golden prairie,
you can see the mountains that enfold Pendaries turn deep rose, gradually brightening to an orangey-pink. Hence their name, Sangre de Cristo, meaning the “Blood of Christ”.

…early mornings or evenings are an excellent time to spot wild turkey, black bear, coyote, fox, deer,
the unusual tufted-ear squirrels unique to the area, and eagles that aren’t on the golf course.

…during summer months it is common to see real cowboys wrangling up a cattle drive
with herding dogs in-tow.

…in late fall, when the color of the aspens flow like molten gold down the mountain sides,
one may hear the distant trumpeting of elk.
